Body of East Windsor Man Found in Millstone River in Cranbury

The man's car struck the Millstone River Bridge embankment and tumbled into the river, according to police.

The body of an East Windsor man was discovered in the Millstone River near John White Road on Saturday afternoon, according to Cranbury police. Anthony Lugg, 60, was involved in a single car crash where his vehicle struck the Millstone River Bridge embankment and fell into the river until it was submerged under water, police said. 

A person driving on the Millstone River Bridge that borders East Windsor on John White Road saw a roof of a pickup truck in the water at around 12:30 p.m. on Saturday and contacted the police. The Cranbury Police Department, Cranbury Township Fire Department, Cranbury First Aid Squad, the East Windsor Fire Department, the West Windsor Fire Department and Rescue, and the Hightstown Fire Department all responded to the scene. Dive teams went into the Millstone River and discovered Lugg's body shortly after 1:15 p.m., police said. 

The car crash took place at some point between the late hours of Wednesday and the morning of Saturday, according to police. Lugg was driving a black 2009 Ford Ranger pickup truck.
