Burglar Steals Copper Pipes and Wiring, Police Say

The investigation is ongoing, police said.

A burglary led to more than $20,000 in damage at a commercial property when a burglar reportedly cut out copper pipes and wiring causing a water leak.

Around $10,000 worth of pipes and wiring was stolen after someone broke in the back door of the building, police said. Water began to leak and caused around $25,000 worth of damage. 

The burglary happened at 279 Route 571, between 7 a.m. on Sept. 26 and around 7:30 a.m. Sept. 29, police said. The property is unoccupied.

Police are investigating and could not immediately be reached for comment Wednesday.
