Car Strikes Utility Pole on Route 130 in East Windsor

The driver was not injured, police said.

A 2004 BMW struck and severed a utility pole on Route 130 in East Windsor shortly before 2:15 p.m. on Friday, according to police. The car was driving approaching the intersection of Hankins Road while traveling south on Route 130 when the car left the road and hit a utility pole, an investigation revealed. 

The pole was split and utility wires were left hanging. East Windsor Volunteer Fire Company #1 responded to the scene as a precaution because of the hanging wires, police said. 

The driver, Dennis Culnan, 39, of Mt. Laurel, was evaluated by medical personnel from Capital Health Ambulance, but was not transported to the hospital for any injuries.

While the scene was cleared and the utility pole was repaired one lane of Route 130 South was closed. The New Jersey Department of Transportation responded to the scene to assist with managing traffic, police said. 

The East Windsor Police Department Traffic Safety Unit is continuing to investigate this incident; no charges have been filed at the present time, according to police.
