Cops Seek Flasher and Report Arrests for DWI, Marijuana and More

Police in East Windsor say they had to brave a vomit-covered driver, while Hightstown reports two intoxicated drivers in two days.

Police reported the following incidents over the course of the past week.

Feb. 15

  • Erick A. Escobar, 18, of Camden, was charged with obstructing justice and hindering apprehension.

Police said they stopped him at 2:43 p.m. on Route 130 near Conover Road for having an obstructed view and driving without wearing a seatbelt. Police said he gave them a false name and false personal information, and that when they discovered his true identity they found he had a $200 bench warrant from Camden Municipal Court.

  • Nowren Kadir, 41, of the Monmouth Junction section of South Brunswick, was charged with driving while intoxicated, reckless driving, careless driving, failure to maintain lane, speeding and failure to stop.

Police said they stopped her at 3:07 a.m. on Route 130 near Town Center Road for driving erratically. Her pupils were constricted and she seemed disoriented, police said, and she was arrested after field sobriety tests.

Feb. 12

  • Brendan Shaw, 26, of Dutch Neck Road, was charged with driving while intoxicated, careless driving, reckless driving, refusal to submit to breath testing and uninsured vehicle.

Police said they responded to a report of a potential intoxicated driver vomiting in an Oldsmobile parked in the 7-11 parking lot at Dutch Neck Commons. Police said they found the vehicle, knocked on the window and saw the driver, Shaw, covered in vomit and extending his middle finger at the officer. Police said once Shaw finally opened the window, he had bloodshot, watery eyes and slurred speech. He was arrested after field sobriety tests.

  • Stephon McCall, 25, of Windsor Regency Apartments, was charged with driving while intoxicated, careless driving, reckless driving and improper exiting from a private driveway.

Police said they first noticed him after he drove onto Route 130 from the parking lot of Brewster’s Pub without slowing or stopping, forcing the officer to brake to avoid a collision. Police said McCall then stopped halfway into the lane and continued driving erratically until the officer tried to stop him.

At that point, police said, McCall ignored the officer and drove into the parking lot of Dutch Neck Commons, stopping in front of the 7-11 store at 1:42 a.m. Police said he had bloodshot, watery eyes and carried a strong odor of alcohol. When the officer tried to speak with McCall, he turned his radio up and began loudly talking on his cell phone, according to a police report.

  • A Twin Rivers Drive North resident told police someone scratched the passenger side of her 2010 Honda with a sharp object while it was parked in the nearby lot between 7 p.m. Feb. 11 and noon Feb. 12. The damage was estimated at $100.

Feb. 11

  • Police are seeking a man who reportedly exposed himself to a patron at Wal-Mart.

Police said they responded to the store at 9:15 p.m. for a report of a man who exposed himself to a female shopper and then left, ignoring store personnel who tried to stop him. The man was described as a light-skinned Latino male with short brown hair and brown eyes, wearing a black coat and a grey hooded sweatshirt.

Feb. 8

  • Patrick L. Reddington, 18, of Meadowview Drive was charged with possession of fewer than 50 grams of marijuana.

Police said they encountered him at 11:07 p.m.  in a “suspicious” Saturn running in the rear lot of Princeton Arms Apartments South 2 with three occupants. Police said they looked into the vehicle and saw the driver rolling a marijuana cigarette, as well as a plastic baggie of marijuana on the center console. Police said Reddington admitted the marijuana belonged to him.

  • Radhamy Liranzo, 18, of Princeton Arms Apartments West, was charged with possession of fewer than 50 grams of marijuana.

Police said they encountered him at 3:30 p.m. in the parking lot of Windsor Castle Apartments while they were there on an unrelated matter. Police said he was with three other people in a yellow Toyota parked in the lot, and that the four occupants tried to hide something when police approached. Police said Liranzo had a marijuana cigarette, and that further investigation revealed a baggie of marijuana in the vehicle right where he had been sitting.

 

Feb. 13

  • Diego Pintado, 28, of Deerfield Apartments, was charged with contempt of court.

Police said they saw him getting into his car in the Stockton Street lot at 1:51 p.m., ran a warrant check and found he had a $528 criminal warrant from Hightstown Borough Municipal Court. He was later released on bail.

Feb. 12

  • Abel Lima-Barrientos, 40, of The Orchards, Cranbury, was charged with driving while intoxicated, suspended driving, unlicensed driving, reckless driving, failure to exhibit a drivers license and contempt of court.

Police said they responded to a minor motor vehicle accident involving a parked vehicle at 10:05 a.m. Police said they smelled alcohol on Lima-Barrientos when they asked for his credentials and that he failed field sobriety tests. At police headquarters, he registered a 0.27-percent blood-alcohol level, police said, and he also had warrants from East Windsor Municipal Court. He was released to a friend on $350 bail.

Feb. 11

  • Fredy Pena-Alvarado, 35, of Abbington Drive, East Windsor, was charged with driving while intoxicated, DWI within a school zone, failure to maintain lane, reckless driving and careless driving.

Police said they responded to East Ward Street at 1:37 a.m. for a report of an erratic driver and arrived to find Pena-Alvarado nearly striking parked vehicles. Police said they stopped him, smelled alcohol and arrested him after field sobriety tests. At police headquarters, his blood-alcohol level was measured at 0.17 percent, police said. He was released once he was sober, police said.
