A Monmouth County man was arrested on suspicion of drunk driving after he crashed his vehicle while navigating the drive-thru lane of the McDonald’s restaurant on Route 130 earlier this month, East Windsor police reported.

Police said Robert Connaghan, 56, of Marlboro struck a “protective barrier” in the McDonald’s drive-thru lane about 2:45 p.m. on March 5.

While the accident itself was minor in nature, Officer David Oleksy – who responded to the crash – smelled an odor of alcohol on Connaghan’s person, according to police.
