UPDATED: Drop Off Unused Medication in East Windsor and Hightstown

Bring your unused medication to the East Windsor Police Department or Hightstown Police Department during Operation Take Back New Jersey, Today.

East Windsor Township and the Borough of Hightstown are both participating in Operation Take Back this weekend. Residents are encouraged to stop by the East Windsor Police Department and the Hightstown Police Department on Saturday, April 27, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and safely drop off their unused or expired prescription medications.

Operation Take Back is a program sponsored by the New Jersey Office of the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) offering residents the opportunity to dispose of all unused, unwanted and expired medications in a safe and secure manner.

East Windsor Township will have a drop box in the East Windsor Police Department for the collection of these various medications. Collected medications will be turned over to the DEA on the next business day for final disposal.

"We encourage our residents to take advantage of this local opportunity to dispose of unused and unneeded medications in a safe and non-hazardous manner," East Windsor Mayor Mironov said. "This program provides an opportunity to securely dispose of unused, unwanted and expired medications in an environmentally responsible manner and prevents possible misuse and access by unauthorized persons and young people to these drugs."
