Drug Possession and Dealing Charges in East Windsor, Hightstown

Police said one arrest came through a narcotics search warrant.

  • James P. Cannon, 19, of Bennington Drive, East Windsor, was charged Monday with possession of over 50 grams of marijuana, possession with intent to distribute and possession with intent to distribute in a school zone.

said they executed a narcotics search warrant at Cannon’s Bennington Drive residence at 3:15 p.m. and found about 1 pound of marijuana and $975 cash. Bennington was released on 10 percent of $5,000 bail. 

  • Steven Reddington, 22, of North Main Street, was charged Sunday with tampering with evidence, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a hypodermic needle and contempt of court.

said they saw him at 2:34 p.m. while on foot patrol on North Main Street and discovered he had a $2,5000 Trenton Municipal Court warrant.

Police said they took Reddington into custody and found a hypodermic needle in the front pocket of his pants which he tried to remove and move down in his pants during the search. He was sent to the Mercer County Adult Correction Center in lieu of $7,500.

Police said an associate of Reddington’s, 18-year-old Brittany Vatovec of Manalapan, was also arrested. She was charged with possession of heroin, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle. Police said they found during the incident that she had a $195 Manalapan Municipal Court warrant and then discovered she had heroin on her. She was released pending court action.

  • Also on Sunday, East Windsor Police said they arrested Kaushalbha Soni , 23, of Avenel, and charged him with possession of fewer than 50 grams of marijuana after seeing him driving on Route 33 in East Windsor with a defective brake light.

Police said they stopped Soni at 10:31 p.m., smelled raw marijuana and found a partially smoked marijuana cigarette in the vehicle.

  • On May 13, Hightstown Police said they charged Todd Martin, 47, of Skillman, with possession of a schedule III narcotic, possession of a schedule IV narcotic, possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle, driving while suspended, unlicensed driving and uninsured motorist.

Police said they stopped Martin on Stockton Street at 4:32 p.m. after a random license plate check showed a $190 Old Bridge Municipal Court warrant. Police said that once stopped, Martin “continually made movements trying to conceal an unknown object beneath the seat.” There, police said they found numerous pills which were later identified as lorazepam, an anti-anxiety drug, and hydrocodone, an opioid.
