Drug Sale Averted in East Windsor

East Windsor police arrested several people for being in possession of drugs in the Township.

The East Windsor Police Department has reported a variety of drug arrests within the Township.

Two adults and one juvenile were arrested and each charged with possession of marijuana under 50 grams on Wednesday, March 20. Detective Ryan Mattek saw a 1997 Pontiac traveling at a high speed on Madison Drive, continuing onto Twin Rivers Drive North, turn into the parking lot of Drew School and park on the basketball court, police said. After approaching the car, Mattek said he found a bag of marijuana inside of the vehicle and there was also some loose marijuana on the floor.

East Windsor resident David Loaiza, 25, was arrested and charged with possession of a prescription narcotic, possession of marijuana under 50 grams, and possession of marijuana with intent to distribute. Loaiza was parked in the lot of The Orchard in a Nissan on March 22 when he left the area upon seeing police officers, according to police. Officers pulled over Loaiza on Route 133 and an investigation revealed that Loaiza had been attempting to deliver marijuana to someone who was waiting for him in the parking lot of The Orchard. Police also found Loaiza to be in possession of a narcotic pill for which he had no prescription. Two bags of marijuana were also located within the vehicle. Loaiza’s bail was set at $1,000; he posted bail and was released pending court action.

Steven Mihalyi, 22, of Hamilton was pulled over on Route 130 on March 20 for a cracked taillight. Ptl. Jospeh Amejka smelled marijuana from within the 2000 Toyota that Mihalyi was driving. Amejka also saw an open bottle of liquor, a bag of marijuana, and a marijuana pipe. Mihalyi was arrested and charged with open alcohol container in motor vehicle, possession of marijuana under 50 grams, possession of drug paraphernalia, drugs in a motor vehicle, maintenance of lamps, and careless driving.
