5 Drug Arrests, 5 DWI's in East Windsor

A list of recent drug and DWI arrests in East Windsor.

East Windsor police have reported a variety of drug and drinking while intoxicated arrests in the Township over the past several weeks. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Drug Arrests

Ryan Fleischer, 18, of Freehold, and Kimberly Lombardi, 18, of Manalapan, were arrested by East Windsor police on April 21 for allegedly being in possession of marijuana. Ptl. Michael Adelung pulled over a car that was erratically driving on Route 130; he reportedly smelled marijuana from within the vehicle. Further investigation revealed that the vehicle occupants, Fleischer and Lombardi, were in possession of a glass jar of marijuana, a marijuana grinder, two marijuana pipes, and a box of cupcakes that were made with marijuana. They were both arrested and charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Ptl. Thomas Meyer pulled over a Pontiac driving on Route 33 on April 23 because the driver was observed to not be wearing his seatbelt. After speaking with the driver, Abneer Dass, 29, of Philadelphia, Pa., Meyer smelled marijuana. An investigation revealed that Dass was in possession of a partially smoked marijuana cigarette and a plastic bag containing marijuana and a marijuana pipe. Dass was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, failure to wear a seatbelt, and drugs in a motor vehicle.

East Windsor resident Robert Mastellone, 21, and Brittany Ward, 21, of Monmouth Junction, were arrested by police on April 9 for allegedly being in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Ptl. Thomas Meyer observed a hand to hand drug transaction in the parking lot of Windsor Castle Apartments. The juveniles purchaser of the drugs was able to enter an apartment before the officer was able to approach him. Ward and Mastellone were the two individuals within the car where the supposed drug transaction took place. Police located a marijuana grinder which contained marijuana. Mastellone and Ward were arrested and charged with possession of marijuana under 50 grams and possession of drug paraphernalia. They were released pending court.

Ptl. Joseph Iannone approached a suspicious vehicle parked on Robertson Road on April 10 where he smelled marijuana. The occupant, Brian Orozco-Farez, 18, was found to be in possession of two partially burnt marijuana cigarettes and several itmes of drug paraphernalia, according to police. Orozco-Farez was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana under 50 grams, possession of drug paraphernalia, and drugs in a motor vehicle.

A 19-year-old East Windsor man was arrested on April 14 for being in possession of marijuana. Ptl. Thomas Meyer pulled over a vehicle traveling on Route 33 East for a malfunction brake light. While approaching the vehicle, Meyer said he smelled marijuana and spotted the drug in the center console of the car. The driver, Derek Oden, reportedly had a paper bundle of marijuana. Oden was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana, maintenance of lamps, and drugs in a motor vehicle. He was released pending court.

 

 Driving While Intoxicated Arrests

Ptl. Ryan Ballard pulled over a Nissan on Route 571 for speeding, swerving, and failing to dim high beams to oncoming traffic at around 2 a.m. on April 15. The driver, Melvin Gutierrez-Centeno, 42, of East Windsor, smelled of alcohol and had bloodshot and watery eyes, police said. Gutierrez-Centeno was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated, reckless driving, careless driving, speeding, improper use of high beams, failure to maintain lane, and unlicensed driver.

Mitchell Kvor, 44, of Franklin Park was arrested after a motor vehicle accident on Route 33 at around 11 p.m. on April 19. Police responded to the accident and learned that Kivor was traveling westbound on Route 33 when he failed to stop at the red traffic signal at Lake Drive and struck another vehicle. Police said that Kivor had difficulty keeping his balance, his speech was slurred, and he had the odor of an alcoholic beverage. Field sobriety tests were performed and he was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated, reckless driving, careless driving and failure to observe traffic signal. There were no reported injuries in the motor vehicle accident.

Police stopped a car traveling on Route 130 for driving in an erratic manner on April 14. The driver of the vehicle, Gregory Lynch, 43, of Aberdeen, reportedly smelled of alcohol, had bloodshot eyes, and was slurring his speech, police said. Lynch was arrested on driving while intoxicated and refused providing breath samples at police headquarters. Lynch was charged with DWI, refusal to submit breath samples, reckless driving, careless driving, delaying traffic, failure to maintain lane, failure to signal, failure to observe traffic signal, obstructing traffic, and uninsured motor vehicle.

Ptl. Matthew Flynn arrested David Stafford, 52, of Freehold, for allegedly driving while intoxicated. Flynn responded to One Mile Road for the report of a motorist asleep behind the wheel of a running Honda Accord on April 17. The driver was awakened and reportedly smelled of an alcoholic beverage, according to police. Police said Stafford’s eyes were bloodshot and he was provided with field sobriety tests. Stafford was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated, fictitious plates, careless driving, reckless driving, failure to observe signal, and obstructing traffic.

Police pulled over a Hyundai traveling erratically on Dutch Neck Road in the early morning hours of April 17 and found the driver, Richard Barry, to be under the influence. Barry, 58, of Princeton Junction, reportedly smelled of alcohol and given field sobriety tests by East Windsor police. Barry was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated, reckless driving, careless driving, and failure to maintain lane.
