East Windsor Blotter: Child Abuse, Thousands Stolen from Residence and Other Reports

Police are still seeking a burglar.

reported the following incidents over the past week.

March 15

  • A total of $7,060 in jewelry, cash, purses and prescription medicine were reported stolen from a Kipling Lane residence.

The resident told police someone took a $3,000 gold, platinum and diamond ring; $2,260 in cash; three Coach purchases, each worth $600 and prescription medication while she was out of the residence between 2 and 6 p.m.

March 14

  • Elliot L. Lige, 29, of Windsor Regency Apartments, was charged with possession of fewer than 50 grams of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Police said they responded to the apartment at 12:16 a.m. on an unrelated matter and saw a bag of marijuana along with rolling papers and a glass marijuana pipe.

March 12-13

  • A man told police someone scratched his 2002 Acura with a sharp object while it was parked in front of his Windsor Castle apartment between 2:30 p.m. March 12 and 12:01 a.m. March 13. The damage was estimated between $200 and $400.

March 10

  • A Windsor Castle Apartments man was charged with child abuse.

Police said they responded to the Walter C. Black School for a report of a child who had complained his father had beaten him. The boy reportedly showed school personnel bruising to his leg and arm.

Patch is withholding the arrested man's name to protect the identity of the child.
