East Windsor Deli Burglar Breaks Front Door

This is the second deli burglary in East Windsor in June.

Police say someone broke into the East Windsor Deli at around 3:30 a.m., June 23.

According to police, the owner went to the Edinburg Road business after the burglar alarm went off. Once there, he found that the front door had been broken and he called police.    

It was not immediately determined what was stolen, or whether anything had been taken from the business, according to police. Lt. Richard Bernstein said that this case remains under investigation.

The incident was the second attempted burglary of a deli in June. On June 9, the Twin Rivers Deli was broken into and cash was stolen from the register. The front door of this deli was also broken, according to police. Bernstein made no comment about whether the two burglaries were connected when asked.
