East Windsor Firefighters Take Oath, Receive Awards

The firefighting community shows appreciation for its membership.

In a recent ceremony captured on video, East Windsor Volunteer Fire Co. 2 (Station 46) life members were warmly applauded for their service, new fire officers took their oath of office, and several awards were given for service, dedication and appreciation.

"It's a job that requires a lot of sacrifice, family sacrifice," said East Windsor Mayor Janice Mironov. "We recognize the tremendous amount of work you do."

There was an awkward pause when, during the administration of the oath, the mayor prompted the candidates to pledge their dedication to Fire Company Number One. She quickly realized her error.  "Two! Two!" she said, to the laughter in the room

"It's a merger, do you like that?" she said, jokingly.
