East Windsor Man Charged With Possession of $8K in Marijuana, Other Drug Offenses

An East Windsor man has been charged with multiple narcotics offenses following the seizure of $8,000 in marijuana and $13,691 in cash from his home, Mercer County Prosecutor Joseph L. Bocchini Jr. announced on Thursday.

Elliot Lige, 32, was charged with possession of marijuana, possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute and possession of drug paraphernalia following a month-long investigation by the county Special Investigations Unit, Bocchini said.

Lige has been released pending court proceedings, Bocchini said.

On Tuesday, Aug. 6, officers from the Special Investigations Unit and East Windsor, Ewing, Hamilton, Lawrence and Trenton police executed a search warrant on Lige’s home on Gardenview Terrace, Bocchini said.

During the search, officers found one and three quarters pounds of high-grade marijuana and $3,500 cash on the floor; $10,000 taped to the back of a dresser in the same room; plastic baggies and two digital scales on a closet shelf; and a small bag of marijuana in a crib in a separate room, Bocchini said.

Additional drug paraphernalia was found in a 2004 Audi, Bocchini said. The Audi and a 2001 Volkswagen were seized as drug proceeds. An additional $191 was found on Lige, Bocchini said.

Lt. Mike Novembre, who led the investigation, estimates the value of the marijuana at $8,000.
