East Windsor Minor Damages Property, Spits on Arresting Officer

A juvenile was arrested after allegedly damaging televisions, cars, harassing family members and threatening police.

A fourteen-year-old boy of East Windsor allegedly damaged property within a Windsor Castle Apartment, owned by a family member, and then attempted to leave the area in a vehicle at around 3:30 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 25, police said.

When East Windsor Police arrived at the scene after a disturbance was reported, the juvenile threw a large piece of cast iron scrap at the police car, which caused damage to the hood and windshield of the vehicle.

According to police, the juvenile continued to act erratically as officers approached him and he verbally challenged the officers to fight him.

An investigation revealed that the boy damaged three televisions within the residence and physically prevented his family members from dialing 911. Then, the boy reportedly broke a cast iron bird bath and smashed the windshields of two cars, owned by members of his family.

While officers were placing him under arrest, the boy proceeded to spit on the arresting officer. He was transported to Capital Health Systems for a psychological evaluation.

The juvenile was charged with aggravated assault, weapons offenses, throwing bodily fluids, criminal mischief, disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, obstruction of justice, and harassment.

Glad all of the trouble makers seem confined to one area of the town. There is an incident there everyday - theft, men peeping in windows, drugs - ironic that the name is Windsor Castle since that could't be further from the truth.

The problems at Windsor Castle have gone on for years. Overcrowded and unhealthy living conditions, an absentee slumlord owner and lack of code enforcement have created a deplorable situation. Not to mention the school tax burden we all share because of the inordinate number of children per rental dwelling.
