Two East Windsor men were arrested on drug charges after being pulled over on Dorchester Drive during the early morning hours of April 5. Ptl. Joseph Amejka stopped the car because several items were hanging from the rearview mirror obstructing the driver’s view. However, Amejka reportedly smelled marijuana from within the vehicle. An investigation revealed that the driver, Erich Ochoa, 19, was in possession of a bag of marijuana and the passenger, Aaron Ramierez, 22, was in possession of a digital scale and marijuana pipe. Ochoa was charged with drug possession and obstructed view and Ramirez was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. Both were released pending court.

Edgar Leonardo, 39, of East Windsor, was charged with driving while intoxicated the night of April 5 after police observed him driving in an erratic manner on Hickory Corner Road. Ptl. David Oleksy reported that he smelled the odor of an alcoholic beverage on the driver and therefore gave him field sobriety tests. He was arrested for DWI and underwent further tests at police headquarters where Leonardo refused to submit breath samples, police said. He was also charged with refusal to submit breath samples, careless driving, reckless driving, failure to maintain lane and using a cell phone in a motor vehicle. Leonardo was released pending court.
