Police determined that the suspect had entered the apartment by way of an unsecured rear door. A cellular phone valued at about $100 was stolen.

The crime has similarities to a burglary that occurred at a different Windsor Regency apartment about 12:45 a.m. Dec. 27. In that case, a woman and her boyfriend were awakened after an intruder entered their bedroom. The burglar – described only as a “male with a red jacket” – fled the bedroom and exited that apartment via its rear sliding door.
