Local Convenience Store Employee Charged With Criminal Sexual Contact

Police responded to a report that a patron had been inappropriately touched by a 7-Eleven employee at 2:10 a.m. on September 2.

According to police, the victim, an adult female, reported that Darmesh Patel, 50, gave her a hug under the pretense of not having seen her for some time and then groped her.

At the conclusion of the investigation, detectives arrested Patel, of Evanston Drive, East Windsor, who was charged with criminal sexual contact and released pending court action.

Area Man Faces Traffic Violations and Other Charges

Police stopped a red Chevrolet on Stockton Street for failing to observe a traffic signal at 11:30 p.m. on September 3.

According to police, the driver, Luis Pintado-Yunga, 32, gave the officer a false name and personal information.

Police said investigation revealed the driver’s true identity and that he did not have a driver’s license.  Pintado-Yunga, of Windsor Regency, was arrested and charged with obstructing justice, hindering apprehension, unlicensed driver, and failing to observe signal.

He was released pending court action.

Ewing Man Charged With Obstructing Justice and Other Charges

Police stopped a red Ford traveling west on Dutch Neck Road in an erratic manner at 2:37 a.m. on September 5.

Police said they stopped the vehicle as it pulled into the Kensington Arms Apartments.

The driver reportedly refused to identify himself to the officer or to provide any documentation. Darian Irving, 18, was arrested for obstructing justice, impeding the flow of traffic, improper turn, failure to exhibit driver’s license, failure to exhibit registration, failure to exhibit insurance, uninsured vehicle, provisional license violation, and careless driving.  After his arrest, Irving, of Ewing, NJ, was identified and released pending court action.

East Windsor Man Faces Drug Charges

Police said an officer observed the driver of a 2006 Nissan traveling eastbound on Rt. 571 not wearing his seatbelt. According to police, the officer stopped the vehicle as it turned onto Dutch Neck Road from Rt. 130 at 12:26 am on September 4.

As the officer spoke with the driver, he reportedly observed suspected marijuana inside the vehicle. Investigation revealed that the vehicle contained four bags of suspected heroin, three bags of marijuana, rolling papers, a marijuana grinder, a switchblade knife, and two false driver’s licenses in the name of the driver, Brian Pontell, 19.

Both Pontell, of West Windsor, and the passenger, Steven Mihalyi, 22, also of West Windsor, were charged with possession of heroin, possession of marijuana under 50 grams, possession of illegal weapon, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Pontell was additionally charged with possession of fictitious driver’s license, drugs in a motor vehicle, and failure to wear seatbelt.

Both suspects posted bail set at $7,500 each and were released pending court action.

Resident’s Shed Burgled

A Dutch Neck Road resident reported his backyard shed was entered and lawn tools worth approximately $750 were stolen between 4 p.m. on August 29 and 6:30 p.m. on September 5. 

Edison Woman Reportedly Attempts Prescription Fraud

Police responded to CVS Pharmacy at 11:25 a.m. on September 6 after receiving a report of an individual attempting to fill a fraudulent prescription for narcotics. The prescription was confirmed by officers to be fraudulent and the Marcy Traum, 37, of Edison, was arrested and later released pending court action.

Theft at Taco Bell

Between 3:10 p.m. and 3:15 p.m. on September 6 a Taco Bell patron’s purse containing $25 in cash, a debit card, and personal papers was reportedly stolen. The complainant told police she had left her purse unattended in the restaurant and it was stolen.

Burglary at Clark Court Home

A Clark Court resident reported her residence was entered while she was away on vacation between 4 p.m. on August 28 and 2 p.m. on September 6. She told police an iPod worth approximately $200 was stolen, as well as $40 in change and a $25 Macy’s gift card.  The incident is under investigation.

Trenton Man Charged For Drunken Driving

Police responded to the Royal Plaza parking lot at 10:07 p.m. on September 7 after receiving a report of an occupied vehicle which had been parked with its engine running for an extended period of time. 

According to police, upon arrival, the officer located the vehicle and found the driver had an odor of an alcoholic beverage and slurred speech.  Dominic Scavo, 44, of Trenton, was reportedly given field sobriety tests and arrested for driving while intoxicated, careless driving, and reckless driving. 

He was later released pending court action. 

Burglary at Woods Road Residence

Between 2:45 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. on September 7, it is reported that a Woods Road home was burgled. The resident reported his unlocked residence was entered and a safe containing assorted jewelry worth approximately $1,900, several check books, and credit cards were stolen.

The incident is under investigation.

Drugs Charges for Local Man

At 11:32 p.m. on September 9, a police officer reportedly observed a 1993 Honda traveling toward him on Ward Street with the high beams activated. Police said the driver failed to deactivate the high beams and was stopped on Cedarville Road. 

According to police, the officer smelled an odor of marijuana in the vehicle. A passenger in the vehicle, Christopher Cordoba, 19, was reportedly found to be in possession of two bags of marijuana. He was arrested for possession of marijuana under 50 grams and later released pending court action.  The driver was issued a summons for improper use of high beams.

Local Woman Faces Drunken Driving Charges

Police said an officer observed a 2000 Hyundai traveling east on Rt. 133 at an unusually slow speed at 12:07 a.m. on September 10.  According to police, the vehicle was also observed operating erratically and was stopped by the officer on Lake Drive. 

Requel Green-Osias, 36, was reportedly observed to have an odor of an alcoholic beverage and bloodshot, watery eyes.  Police said Green-Osias, of Country Mill Drive, was given field sobriety tests and arrested for driving while intoxicated, driving while intoxicated in a school zone, reckless driving, careless driving, obstructing traffic, and failure to maintain lane. She was released pending court action. 

Theft at Dutch Neck Road Home

A Dutch Neck Road resident reported two ATVs were stolen from his yarn between 11 p.m. on September 10 and 6:15 a.m. on September 11. The resident told police the ATVs were locked with a cable and padlock and were concealed.  The total value of both ATVs was estimated at $2,850.  The incident is under investigation.

Florida Man Faces Drunken Driving Charges

Police responded to a report of an intoxicated male leaving the East Windsor Shell service station at 11:43 p.m. on September 10 and preparing to drive his vehicle.

Police reportedly observed Peter Husinko, 41, to have signs of intoxication and deemed he had driven his vehicle to the Shell station. Police said Husinko, of Fort Myers, Fla., was found to be in possession of several bottles of legally prescribed narcotics which are known to cause intoxication and admitted to having taken them.

He was reportedly given field sobriety tests and arrested for driving while intoxicated, driving while intoxicated in a school zone, driving under the influence of narcotics, reckless driving, and careless driving.  Husinko was released pending court action.
