East Windsor's Police Chief Retiring

The chief has been with the department since 1984.

East Windsor Police Chief William Spain is retiring this summer after serving as chief for 12 years, according to the mayor.

Spain, who joined the department in 1984, will retire July 1 and the Township will select a new chief from within the police department, Mironov said.

Reviews for the chief will be conducted by a governing body-staff committee and its anticipated a new chief will be in place when Spain leaves, according to Mironov.

"Chief Spain is a smart, highly skilled and dedicated professional, and has been a terrific leader for East Windsor," Mironov said in an email Sunday. "He has a great deal to be proud of during his service."

Thanks for a job well done Chief Spain! We will certainly miss you when you leave, and I am sure great things await you in your retirement. I wanted to thank you for all of the great work you have done for the East Windsor community and our residents; especially at Windsor Mill Condominiums.
