East Windsor Police Investigate Burglaries

Drug possession, drunken driving and other charges were also part of mid-December police activity.

are looking into two home burglaries occurring in the first half of the day Dec. 1. In one incident, police said they responded to a Dorchester Drive residence after the homeowner reported coming back to find someone had broken in through the front door between 9 and 10:21 a.m. The woman found the home "in disarray," police said, with about $800 in jewelry and electronics stolen.

In another incident, police said they responded to a residence on Hickory Corner Road on another report of a homeowner coming back to find her house burglarized and ransacked. Police said someone stole $270 in electronics from the residence between 8:20 a.m. and 3:45 p.m.

While both burglaries are still under investigation, Detective Sgt. Richard Bernstein acknowledged there could be a link between the two. "That's certainly a possibility we would consider based on the date and time," he said.

Police also reported the following incidents from the week of Dec. 1.

Robert M. Logan, 40, of Robbinsville, was charged Dec. 2 with possession of marijuana under 50 grams, possession of drug paraphernalia, being under the influence of marijuana, driving while intoxicated, failure to observe signal, careless driving, reckless driving and having drugs in a motor vehicle. Police said they stopped him at 3:48 a.m. on Stockton Street after seeing him turn left off of Route 130 at a red arrow. Police reported finding loose marijuana and a marijuana pipe in the car and said they took Logan into custody after field sobriety tests.

Ryan Boehm, 27, of Bennington Drive, East Windsor, was charged Dec. 2 with falsely implicating another, obstruction of justice, hindering apprehension, speeding, reckless driving and careless driving. Police said they stopped him at 1:39 p.m. on One Mile Road for speeding and that he identified himself as someone else. Police said they eventually discovered Boehm's true identity and an outstanding warrant from Manalapan Municipal Court. He was released after posting $290 on the warrant.

A Brookwood Gardens Apartments resident said someone stole a UPS package from the door of his apartment, which contained a $79 camera, between 5 and 6 p.m. Dec. 3.

James N. Seals, 28, of Plainsboro, was charged Dec. 5 with driving while intoxicated, failure to keep right, failure to maintain lane, careless driving, reckless driving, driving an unregistered vehicle and being a suspended driver. Police said they stopped him at 2:35 a.m. on Route 130 near Hickory Corner Road for driving erratically. Police said Seals had a suspended license and they arrested him after field sobriety tests.

A Cypress Drive resident reported someone broke off the side mirrors of his Nissan Maxima while it was parked in front of his residence between 7 p.m. Nov. 28 and 11:51 a.m. Dec. 5, police said. The damage was estimated at $300.

A Twin Rivers Drive North resident told police someone scratched her 2010 Subaru with a sharp object as it was parked in the lot near her residence between 5 p.m. Dec. 4 and 1:45 p.m. Dec. 5, police said. The damage was estimated at $150.
