East Windsor Recreation Director Suspended Without Pay, Charged

The charges come after his secretary was arrested in August 2011.

East Windsor Township’s Recreation Director has been suspended without pay after police said he knew his secretary was falsifying township records to send her child to summer camp and lied about it to authorities, officials said.

Police said 43-year-old Kevin Hood was charged on March 8 after an investigation by the and the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office revealed he lied to authorities, and told his secretary to also make false statements to police.

Hood, who has been employed with the Township since 2006, was charged with theft, witness tampering and hindering apprehension, and was release on his own recognizance.

Another Township employee discovered the record keeping irregularity and brought it to the attention of the town manager, police said.

Hood’s secretary, Christine Hodapp, was charged in August 2011 for falsifying records over a three-year period, and fraudulently receiving around $6,850, police said. She had been working for the Township since 2007.
