Funeral Services Set for Victims of Old Bridge Shooting

Funeral services for the two young victims of a shooting at Pathmark in Old Bridge have been scheduled for this week. 

, were both killed on Friday from single gunshot wounds fired from the gun of fellow employee Terence Tyler, according to the Middlesex County Prosecutor's Office. 

Services for Breen will be held Wednesday morning at the Old Bridge Funeral Home, immediately followed by a burial at Chestnut Hill Cemetery. A viewing will be held Tuesday from 5 to 9 p.m.

Services for LoBrutto will be held Thursday at 10 a.m., at St. Ambrose Church in Old Bridge, immediately followed by a burial at . A viewing is scheduled for Wednesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m., at the Hegarty funeral home.

Tyler, 23, , killing two of his fellow employees before turning his gun on himself.

More than a dozen employees were working an early morning shift at 4 a.m. when Tyler returned to work after his overnight shift, dressed in camouflage and carrying an assault rifle.

Tyler "entered the store, firing his weapon," according to Middlesex County Prosecutor Bruce Kaplan.

Tyler is a former United States Marine, stationed in California and never deployed. Marines officials said he was discharged in 2010, but did not specify why.

Dragan Jovanovic, general manager at a nearby Staples, said he found service roads to his store blocked off when he arrived for work at 7 a.m. the morning of the shooting, and went instead to a McDonalds on Rt. 9, where he encountered several supermarket employees and other witnesses to the shooting.

Jovanovic, 46, of Union County, said they told him the shooter "was terminated last night, during the shift, and he came back like an hour later. The door was locked. He threw a shopping cart through the window and started shooting." One employee told Jovanovic he "heard a loud bang and somebody shouted, 'Everybody run to the back of the store.'"

Neither the Middlesex County Prosecutor's Office nor the Old Bridge Police Department have confirmed how Tyler got his weapons, a handgun and an Ak47.

According to The Star Ledger, Tyler was a rifleman during his time in the Marines.

Tyler had been living in London Terrace since June, an Old Bridge apartment complex behind the grocery store where his sister resided. He had been working at the Pathmark on Rt. 9 in Old Bridge for 11 days before the incident.

, many in his own building did not know him well or at all. But Tyler may have left warning signs through his Twitter account in the last several years.

One 2009 tweet reads: “Is it normal to want to kill ALL of ur coworkers?” he wrote in 2009. “Maybe but I’m actually in a position where I can.”

Another reads: “I’m starting to see why plp go on killin sprees...Because these mothaf------ are reeeeeeally pushin my ‘kill everyone I see button.’"

Tyler's Twitter account has laid dormant since 2009. 

, of which both were graduates. LoBrutto had not yet began her first college semester at Brookdale Community College. Breen was enrolled in Middlesex County College.
