Hightstown Man Charged with Simple Assault After Biting Neighbor

Three men were involved in a physical altercation which resulted in one man biting the other.

A Hightstown man was arrested on a simple assault charge for becoming involed in a physical altercation with two men which resulted in the suspect biting one of the victims, police said.

Socimo Solano Ortiz, 24, was arrested by Hightstown police on March 30. Police were made aware of the incident from a 911 call that was abandoned. Officers responded to the area where the call was made and located the caller who reported the fight. The caller told police that the altercation took place in a residence on the 100 block of North Main Street.

The victims of the assault, a 49-year-old man and 23-year-old man, were neighbors of Ortiz, according to police. A dispute between the three men erupted into a physical altercation and Ortiz reportedly bit one of the victims which resulted in a minor laceration; the man denied medical attention.

Ortiz was arrested, charged, and released on a summons pending court.
