Hightstown Police Blotter: Theft and Harassment

The following arrest information was supplied by the police department of Hightstown Borough.

 

Theft of Delivered Package

A Rogers Avenue resident’s package was stolen on Oct. 14 between 9:15 a.m. and 9:35 a.m., when tracking information indicated the package was delivered.

Police said the victim reported the package was left in the doorway of the residence, but upon arriving home, there was no package.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact the Hightstown Borough Police Department.

Telephone Harassment

A South Main Street resident reported being the victim of harassment beginning Oct. 15, having received more than 100 phone calls to a personal phone and work phone.

Police said the subjects claim to be from a company identified as BFF Investigations. A male party reportedly requested the victim’s social security number. The calls increased in frequency and urgency, and the subject stated the victim owed money from a prior loan and must send money via Western Union. 

Citizens should be aware this activity is part of a scam and are advised to never give personal information over a telephone or internet to unknown parties. 

Anyone else that may be victim to this company or pattern of behavior is asked to contact the Hightstown Borough Police Department.
