Hightstown Police: Burglaries and Thefts

The Hightstown Police Department have reported these recent burglaries, thefts, and one instance of criminal mischief.

The following information was provided by the Hightstown Borough Police Department:


Theft

A Yukon 600 Raptor all-terrain vehicle valued at about $1,000 was recently stolen from the shed of a property in the 100 block of Oak Lane. The owner reported the theft to police at 12:20 p.m. on Feb. 2. The ATV was described as being blue, with white accents. Police ask anyone with information that could aid their investigation to call them at (609) 448-1234.

Burglary

Between the hours of 8 p.m. on Jan. 29 and 7 a.m. on Jan. 30, a purse containing $240 in cash and various personal documents was stolen from a vehicle parked outside Michael’s Pizza on Mercer Street. The owner could not remember whether the vehicle had been locked, but police found no evidence of forced entry. The crime was reported to police at 7:32 p.m. on Jan. 31 and police ask anyone with information about the crime to contact them.

Burglary

About $5,000 worth of jewelry was stolen from a home in the 100 block of South Street sometime between Nov. 12, 2012, and Jan. 22. During that time frame, work was being done to the residence and the house was left unsecured to facilitate the work, according to the resident, who reported the crime to police at 4:42 p.m. on Jan. 22. Anyone with information regarding the burglary is asked to contact the Hightstown Borough Police Department.

Theft

Officers responded to a home on Rocky Brook Drive after a resident there called police at 6:46 p.m. on Jan. 20 to report a theft. The victim reported that about two weeks earlier an order was placed with a clothing company but the shipment was never received by the victim. The U.S. postal service confirmed delivery of the package, but the package was apparently removed from the doorway of the residence prior to the victim returning home. Anyone with information about the theft is asked to contact the Hightstown Borough Police Department.

Criminal Mischief

Police are seeking information that will help them uncover who damaged a vehicle while it was parked on Dennis Court sometime between Jan. 28 and Jan. 29. The owner contacted police at 11:20 a.m. on Feb. 4 after noticing that the driver’s side front door had been “keyed.”
