Hightstown to Increase Patrols During Holiday Season

The police department is increasing directed, foot, and drunk driving patrols beginning on Thanksgiving.

The Hightstown Police Department has announced that they will be increasing directed patrols and foot patrols in downtown Hightstown in an attempt to inhibit and discourage crime during the holiday season. The addition of patrols will begin on Thanksgiving.

The officers will be looking out for shoplifters and suspicious people loitering in parking lots or by parked cars. They will be patrolling the parking lots to assure the safety of the diners, shoppers, employees, business owners, and local residents. The parking lots that will be patrolled include Main Street Lot, Stockton Street Lot, Fernando's' Lot, Wells Fargo Lot, Krauszers' Lot, Borough Hall, and other business parking lots.

The police department will also be instituting drunk driving patrols during the holiday season, as well, as a part of the department's "Zero Tolerance Policy" against drunk driving.
