Man Faces Charges for Alleged Back-Yard Disruption

Township man is accused of trying to set fires.

A 27-year-old township man was arrested after he allegedely tried to set fire to a tree.

Paul A. Truncellito Jr., of Jamestown Road, was charged with disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, criminal mischief and trespassing on July 4 when police responded to a Jamestown Road address at 12:24 a.m. for a report of a man in the caller's back yard who was attempting to light a tree on fire. 

Police said Truncellito was found in the back yard when officers arrived.  The complainant also reported several ornamental plants had been pulled up in her garden.

Police said Truncellito refused to turn around and show his hands and eventually became combative and began screaming obscenities at the officers.  Police said he approached the officers in an aggressive manner and physically resisted arrest. He was handcuffed and later released pending court action.
