NJTransit police have identified the man who was killed at the New Brunswick train station Tuesday, an incident that led to four other injuries to people who were struck by the victim's body parts.
Frank Farriella, 50, of West Pershing Avenue in Middlesex was identified as the man who leaned into the tracks at the station and was struck by a passing train.
"While this matter remains under active investigation, NJ Transit would remind customers that for their safety, we continue to ask that they remain behind the yellow line until the train has arrived and the train doors have opened," according to a statement from NJ Transit.
The three individuals who were taken to Robert Wood Johnson Medical Center to be treated for injuries sustained from incident include: a 64-year-old woman who suffered multiple fractured ribs; an 83-year-old man who complained of back, neck and head injuries; and a 27-year-old man who complained of head pain.
A fourth individual declined medical treatment.
