Nearly 100 Firefighters Respond to Westfield Road Blaze

No one was hurt in the Monday evening fire.

A single- family home on Westfield Road was destroyed by fire Monday evening.

East Windsor Fire companies 1 and 2 responded to the fire at approximately 10:30 p.m. and found flames and heavy smoke engulfing the rear of the single family home. The fire spread rapidly and the first floor collapsed, according to the fire department.

No one was home at the time, fire officials said.

Almost 100 firefighters from East Windsor, Highstown, West Windsor, Cranbury, Robbinsville, Monroe and Plainsboro, responded to the blaze, which was reported by neighbors.

Other neighboring towns provided “cover” service, officials said. East Windsor, Hightstown and area Rescue Squads also provided rehab services at the scene. East Windsor police were on scene and there were no injuries.

The fire began in the basement and is still under investigation, fire officials said.

Mr. Smith, A ladder is used for climbing. Climbing is the activity of using one's hands and feet (or indeed any other part of the body) to ascend a steep object. It is done both for recreation (to reach an inaccessible place, or for its own enjoyment) and professionally, as part of activities such as maintenance of a structure, or military operations.

One can only imagine what a tragedy this could have been if it had been the boarding/volleyballhouse just a few houses away on Dutch Neck Road. We all know which house this is, and East Windsor officials, you must know too. Please find a way to make it a priority to clean up these dangerous firetraps.
