Patrol Car Crash Sends Hightstown Officer to Hospital

A car struck a Hightstown patrol car Tuesday sending the patrolman to the hospital.

A Hightstown police officer was involved in a car crash Tuesday afternoon that sent him and four others to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

A car collided with a Hightstown patrol car being driven by Special II Officer Tyler Distefano, 23, on Franklin Street shortly before 2:30 p.m., according to a press release issued by the Hightstown Police Department. 

Mikhail Abraham, 21, of Pittsburgh, was driving the car that hit Distefano. Four passengers in the vehicle: George Abraham, 20, Amina Abraham, 50, John Abraham, 21, and Amal Abraham, 44, and Distefano were transported to Princeton Medical Center at Plainsboro for non-life-threatening injuries. Distefano was treated at the hospital and released, police said.

The cause of the accident is currently under investigation.
