Police Blotter: Charges of Forgery, Drugs, DWI, Public Urination and More

East Windsor and Hightstown police provide us with their weekly reports.

Police reported the following incidents from the last week.

March 20

  • Nadine C. Jordan, 43, of Abbington Drive, was charged with driving while intoxicated, failure to signal turn, failure to maintain lane, careless driving and reckless driving.

Police said they stopped her at 2:54 a.m. on Route 33 after seeing her driving erratically near Woodside Drive. Police said she had watery eyes and droopy eyelids and smelled of alcohol, and that they arrested her after field sobriety tests.

  • Nair Ramprasad, 37, of Queensboro Terrace, was charged with driving while intoxicated, careless driving, reckless driving, improper turn, unsafe lane change and failure to signal turn.

Police said they stopped him at 2:15 a.m. on Airport Road after seeing him driving erratically on Route 130. Police said he had bloodshot, watery eyes, slurred speech and smelled of alcohol.

March 19

  • Two 17-year-old boys, one from Rockybrook Road and the other from Meadowview Drive, were both charged with possession of fewer than 50 grams of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and being under the influence of a controlled dangerous substance.

Police said they responded to a parking lot on Kipling Lane at 1:59 p.m. for a report of three men in a gold Honda possibly using marijuana. Police said they found the boys in the vehicle, where the front seat passenger was smoking a marijuana cigarette. The passenger turned the cigarette over to police, according to a police report, and an investigation revealed six bags of marijuana in the vehicle. The driver and front seat passenger were both arrested and later turned over to family members.

  • A man told police someone scratched his 2011 Hyundai with a sharp object while it was parked on Bennington Drive between 6 p.m. March 18 and 3:30 a.m. March 19. The damage was estimated at $1,000.

March 18

  • Police responded to Hickory Corner Road for a report of a residential burglary.

The victim told police someone entered through an unlocked door between 11 p.m. March 17 and 10:28 a.m. March 18 and took two pieces of jewelry from a bedroom dresser. The items were valued at about $250.

March 16

  • Police responded to Gold’s Gym for a report of someone entering two lockers and stealing wallets from each one.

Police said the incident occurred between 7:30 and 9:30 p.m. One of the locks had not been secured, and a wallet with $100 cash was taken from within, according to a police report. In the other case, that victim told gym personnel that someone broke his lock and stole his wallet, but police said they were not able to contact him by the time of their report.

  • A woman told police someone stole the wallet from her open purse while she was shopping at Target between 2 and 3:48 p.m. The wallet contained credit cards and personal papers, according to police.

March 9

  • Corey Burroughs, 23, of Hempstead, N.Y., was charged with forgery and theft.

Police said he used three counterfeit $100 bills to purchase a laptop computer at Walmart on Feb. 6. He was charged after an investigation East Windsor police conducted in conjunction with the U.S. Secret Service, who had Burroughs in custody and served him with the charges, according to police. Bail for the charges was set at $10,000 with no option to post 10 percent for release.

March 22

  • Russell Levrets, 20, of Morrison Avenue, was charged with simple assault.

Police said they responded to a report of a physical altercation at Westerlea Avenue at 9:06 p.m. The victim had several lacerations on his arm and said Levrets punched him several times, causing the victim’s arm to go through a window and necessitating stitches, according to a police report.

  • Kevin Marshall, 25, of Hamilton, was charged with contempt of court and driving while suspended.

Police said they stopped him at 12:40 p.m. at a motor vehicle checkpoint on Mercer Street and found he had a suspended license and a $158 Tinton Falls Municipal Court warrant.

  • Amanda Marazzo, 22, of Hamilton, was charged with contempt of court and failure to inspect.

Police said they stopped her at 12:38 p.m. on Mercer Street after a license plate check showed she had a $120 Hamilton Township Municipal Court warrant. She was later released on bail.

March 21

  • Someone took two ashtray receptacles worth about $250 from in front of a business on the 300 block of Mercer Street between 6 p.m. March 18 and 8:30 a.m. March 21. Police are asking anyone with information to call them at 609-448-1234.

March 20

  • Someone entered an unlocked car parked on the 100 block of Reed Street between noon March 19 and 1:59 p.m. March 20 and took floor mats worth $50. Police are asking anyone with information to call them at 609-448-1234.

March 19

  • Pedro Calderon, 34, of Abbington Drive, East Windsor, was charged with driving while intoxicated, DWI within a school zone, refusal to submit breath samples, possessing an open container of alcohol within a motor vehicle, consumption of alcohol within a motor vehicle, reckless driving, careless driving and speeding.

Police said they stopped him at 2:05 a.m. on Franklin Street for driving 43 mph in a 25-mph zone, and that they smelled alcohol and took him into custody after he failed field sobriety tests. In the vehicle, police said they found a small glass of beer, and at the station they said Calderon refused to submit breath samples.

March 18

  • Aye Yin, 47, of Franklin Street, was charged with contempt of court, speeding, uninsured vehicle and touring privileges.

Police said they stopped him at 8 a.m. on Franklin Street for driving 46 mph in a 35-mph zone. A credential check showed he had warrants from several towns in different amounts: Waretown Municipal Court, $1,000; Secaucus Municipal Court, $250; Woodstown Municipal Court, $138; Seaside Park Borough Municipal Court, $137; and Egg Harbor Municipal Court, $122. He was later released on bail.

March 17

  • Joseph Soden III, 20, of Lincoln Avenue, was charged with driving while intoxicated, underage DWI, reckless driving and traveling the wrong way on a one-way roadway.

Police said they received a report of someone driving the wrong way on a one-way road and found the vehicle in the parking lot on Main Street at 11:02 p.m. Police said they smelled alcohol and arrested Soden after he failed field sobriety tests. At headquarters, his blood-alcohol level was measured at 0.05 percent, according to police.

  • Alexis Javier Barahona, 35, of Plainsboro, was charged with urinating in public, driving while intoxicated, DWI within a school zone, reckless driving and unlicensed driving.

Police said they saw him drive to the back of the parking lot on Main Street at 9:01 p.m. and urinate outside of his vehicle. Police said they approached him, smelled alcohol, and arrested him after he failed field sobriety tests. At headquarters, his blood-alcohol level was measured at 0.05 percent, according to police.
