Police Blotter: DWI, Burglary, Criminal Mischief

Police reported the following incidents from last week and beyond.

East Windsor

April 1

  • Mark L. Timko, 23, of Millstone, was charged with driving while intoxicated, careless driving, failure to maintain lane, and failure to stop at a sign.

Police said they saw a Chrysler erratically driving eastbound on Airport Road with a broken tail light around 1:15 a.m. When the car made a right turn onto Old York Road, the officer stopped the car. Police said they smelled alcohol on Timko, who also had bloodshot, watery eyes. Timko was given a field sobriety test and arrested.

  • A 16-year-old Princeton Arms West resident was charged with burglary and criminal mischief.
  • A 17-year-old boy, a resident of Wynbrook West, was also charged with burglary and criminal mischief.
  • A 17-year-old male, a resident of Wynbrook West, was charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of marijuana over 50 grams, possession of drug paraphernalia, resisting arrest, and obstructing justice.

Police said they received a call to a Wynbrook West apartment at 10: 40 a.m. for a report of a break in and confrontation between two juvenile acquaintances. The 16- year-old fled and was arrested at the Princeton Arms West apartment by officers. During a investigation, police learned that the burglary had been planned to steal marijuana and money from the Wynbrook West apartment. Both juveniles were released to their parents pending a court date.

During a search of the Wynbrook West apartment, police said they found a large quantity of marijuana in a bag, as well as nine individually packaged baggies, $213 in cash, and a glass smoking pipe.

Police said that when they confronted the juvenile, he tried to run out the back door of the apartment. He was arrested and later released to his parents pending a court date.

  • Sequan W. Reynolds, 22, of Trenton, was charged with obstructing justice and hindering apprehension. 

Police said they saw a Nissan with illegally tinted windows at 11:15 a.m. traveling on Milford Road. When the vehicle was stopped, Reynolds claimed he didn't have a driver's license and gave a false name and personal information. 

After investigating, police discovered Reynolds' identity and learned he had an outstanding warrant from Trenton Municipal Court, and was arrested pending bail for the Trenton warrant.

April 2

  • Kyle Rush, 21, of Edison Drive, was charged with resisting arrest, obstructing justice and disorderly conduct.

Police said they observed three males loitering behind the Mercer County Library around 4:45 p.m. After speaking to police, police discovered Rush had an active warrant for his arrest from Trenton Municipal Court. Rush then fled the scene, and was caught by police on Evanston Drive and was arrested. 

April 5

  • Manubhai Patel, 56, of Winchester Drive, was charged with driving while intoxicated, refusal to submit to breath samples, driving an uninsured vehicle, careless driving, reckless driving, failure to lead right of way, driving without a seat belt, failure to maintain lane, and delaying traffic.

Police said they witnessed a 1999 Nissan driving erratically northbound on Route 130 at Hickory Corner Road around 9:35 p.m. Upon stopping the vehicle, Patel smelled of alcohol and was arrested after failing field sobriety tests.

Hightstown

March 30

  • Police reported that between 5 a.m. on March 30 and 2:30 p.m. on March 31, two suspects broke into a fenced-in business on the 400 block of Mercer Street and took four brake drums, two generators and one tire rack.  Police said the total value of the items taken is $1,879. Anyone with information can contact Hightstown Borough Police. 
  • Christian Rosario, 19, of Academy Street, was taken into custody at his residence for two outstanding warrants for his arrest.  Police said both warrants for the Hightstown Borough Municipal Court, one was a traffic warrant for $500, in addition to a criminal warrant.  

Police said Rosario was taken to the Mercer County Adult Correction Center in lieu of bail.

April 2

  • Gabriel Vega, 28, of Trenton, was charged with contempt of court, exhibiting a fictitious driver's license, hindering apprehension, failure to observe a traffic control device, and unlicensed driving.

Police said that at approximately 11:27 a.m.,  police saw Vega go through a red light at the intersection of Stockton Street and Main Street.  When stopped, police said Vega produced a false Mexican driver's license.

 Through further investigation and credential checks, Vega was found to have a suspended driver’s license, was unlicensed, and had several warrants for his arrest. Vega was arrested, and found to have an outstanding warrant in Bordentown Township Municipal Court for $500; an outstanding Trenton Municipal Court for $513; a Pemberton Borough Municipal Court warrant for $250; a Freehold Township Municipal Court for $896 and a Hamilton Township Municipal Court warrant for $500.
