Police Blotter: DWI, Burglary, Forgery

East Windsor and Hightstown filed the following reports over the last week.

East Windsor

April 12

  • A 15-year-old juvenile from Millstone was charged with eluding police, obstructing justice, disorderly conduct, operating an ATV on a public roadway, driving on sidewalks, reckless driving, driving without a license, and careless driving.

Police said they saw a red Honda ATV on Abbington Drive at 3:48 p.m. driving fast. Police attempted to stop the driver, who them accelerated and fled from the officer. A short time later, police said he was taken into custody and released to his mother pending a court date.

April 15

  • Alexis Figueroa, 18, of Bennington Drive, was charged with driving while intoxicated, reckless driving, careless driving, and failure to report a motor vehicle accident.

Police said they received a call for a report of a hit and run accident at 10:12 p.m. involving a parked car and a red Mitsubishi. When police pulled over the Mitsubishi, Figueroa smelled of alcohol. She failed field sobriety tests and was released pending court action.

  • Police said that on April 15, between the hours of 7:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m., a resident of the Princeton Arms East apartment complex called to report a theft. The resident said that someone had reached through an open window and taken an iPhone that was sitting on a desk below the window. The phone was valued at $800.

April 16

  • Carl Werner, 26, of Edison, was charged with driving while intoxicated, making an improper turn, failure to maintain lane, not wearing a seat belt, driving an uninsured vehicle, reckless driving, and careless driving.

Police said they observed a silver Honda exit from Brewster's parking lot on Route 130 South at 12:01 a.m. The car turned the wrong way, despite the "Right Turn Only" sign. After the car was stopped, police said a strong alcoholic odor was coming from Werner's breath, and his movements were slow and uncoordinated. He was then arrested for DWI. 

April 17

  • A 17-year-old male resident of Wynbrook West Apartments was charged with distributing drugs, distribution of drugs in a school zone, possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute, and distribution of marijuana over one ounce.

Detectives executed a search warrant on a Wynbrook West apartment after a police investigation revealed that marijuana was being sold from the apartment. Police said they seized 89 grams of marijuana, $440 in cash, a digital scale and packaging materials. The 17-year-old male was arrested and was transfered to the Mercer County Youth Detention Center pending a court date.

April 18

  • Between 6 p.m. April 18 and 12:53 a.m. on April 19, police received a call about a burglary. Police said a resident of the Windsor Regency apartments had entered through a bathroom window and stole approximately $350 in cash, $325 in coins, and an iPod Touch valued at $200. The incident is under investigation. 
  • Felipe Merida-Diaz, 28, of Kensington Arms, was charged with obstructing justice, hindering apprehension, failure to stop at a stop sign, and driving with a suspended license, as well as driving without a license. 
  • Ruby Galvez, 35, of Kensington Arms, was charged with hindering apprehension. 

Police said they saw a 2004 Chrysler at 10:27 a.m. fail to stop at a stop sign on Dutch Neck Road. The car was stopped and Merida-Diaz gave the officer false information. Galvez also gave false information as to the identity of Merida-Diaz. An investigation revealed the Merida-Diaz's true identity, and he was arrested for obstructing justice, and was found to have several outstanding warrants from East Windsor and Hightstown courts. 

April 19

  • Jose Borrero, 24, of Hamilton, was charged with forgery, theft, and possession of marijuana.

Police said they received a call from PNC Bank at 4:12 p.m. for a report of a male attempting to cash a one-million dollar fraudulent check. Borrero was identified by bank personnel and the check, made out to himself for a million dollars, was seized. When police arrested Borrero, police found a bag of marijuana on him. He was released pending a court date. 

Hightstown

April 14

  • Brittany Thomas, 22, of Neptune, was charged with driving with a suspended license and contempt of court.

A random license plate inquiry revealed Thomas' driver's license was suspended and that an active warrant for her arrest for $500 was issued by Freehold Municipal Court. Police said Thomas was released upon posting bail. 

  • John Pietrefesa, Jr., 41, of Dutch Neck Road in East Windsor, was turned over from the East Windsor Police Department on an active warrant issued by the Hightstown Borough Municipal Court. Police said the warrant was for $2,778. Pietrefesa Jr. was transported to the Mercer County Adult Correction Center in lieu of bail.
  • Police said that between the hours of 11 a.m. and 1 p.m., an unknown suspect entered an apartment in Deerfield Apartments and stole approximately $200 in loose change. 

Police reported that the homeowner, upon returning, found personal articles in disarray and the money missing. The homeowner left the door unlocked while away. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact the Hightstown Borough Police Department. 

April 17

  • Justin Davis, 29, of New Egypt, was charged with driving while intoxicated, driving while intoxicated in a school zone, refusal to submit to breath samples, reckless driving, careless driving and failure to maintain lane.

Police said they saw Davis run over the cement median upon leaving the Main Street parking lot at 1:38 p.m. When stopped, Davis had a strong alcoholic odor on his breath and failed field sobriety tests. He was arrested and given breath tests at the police headquarters. 

  • Dionicio Nolasco-Santiago, 24, of North Main Street, was charged with possessing and uttering fraudulent documents.

Police said they stopped Nolasco-Santiago at 12:28 p.m. on Academy Street for speeding and having a missing brake light. Upon being stopped, Nolasco-Santiago was found to have several false social security cards with different names on them. He was turned over to the Mercer County Adult Correction Center in lieu of bail. 

  • Diego Inchala-Valenzuela, 34, of Outcalt Street, was charged with disorderly conduct. 

Police said they witnessed him urinate between two parked cars in the police parking lot at 2:20 p.m. Inchala-Valenzuela was arrested and released on $150 bail pending court action. 

April 18

  • Jesus Aguilar-Ramos, 23, of Perrineville, was charged with having a cracked windshield, unlicensed driving, hindering his own apprehension, and failure to exhibit a driver's license. 

Police said they received a call  at 7:22 p.m. from the Michael's Plaza on Mercer Street about complaints about suspicious vehicle. When questioned, Aguilar-Ramos gave police a false name and date of birth. Aguilar was then arrested and released after posting ten percent of his $500 bail.
