Police Blotter: GPS Systems, Money Taken From Unlocked Vehicles

The following arrest information was supplied by the police department of Hightstown Borough. It does not indicate a conviction.

Multiple Thefts From Unlocked Vehicles
From midnight to 9 a.m. on Aug. 10, police responded to five thefts at Wyckoff Mills Development, one at Center Street and one at Prospect Street. All thefts were reported to be from unlocked motor vehicles. Money, GPS systems and earphones were all reported taken. The Hightstown Borough Police Department asks anyone with information on these incidents to contact them, and encourages residents to secure their vehicles and keep valuables out of sight.

Man in Custody Found with Drugs
After Jeffery Woods, 56, of East Windsor, was sentenced in Hightstown Borough Municipal Court, officers took custody of Woods and found to have three pills on him. Woods was charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance and turned over to the Mercer County Adult Correction Center.

Disorderly Conduct Charge for East Windsor Resident
East Windsor resident Segundo Arias-Delgado, 43, was charged with disorderly conduct after officers responded Aug. 11 at 1:16 a.m. to Franklin Street for a report of an intoxicated person causing a disturbance and refusing to leave a store. Arias-Delgado was issued a summons complaint and released after being sober.

Two Men Take Vehicle Without Owners Permission, Attempt to Flee Acident Scene
Resident Amilcar Jimenez, 35, and Mario Avalos-Sandoval, 41, of Phoenix, Az., were charged Aug. 14 with taking a vehicle without owner’s consent, unlawful taking means of conveyance, leaving the scene of an accident and failure to report an accident. After the pair drove a vehicle without the owner’s knowledge, they forgot to place it in park and it rolled onto Mercer Street, striking another vehicle. Jimenez and Avalos-Sandoval parked the vehicle and tried to run but were caught by officers. They were both released on summons complaints with pending court action.

Groveville Resident Arrested on Hightstown Traffic Warrant
An Aug. 15 traffic stop turned into an arrest after a credential check showed Suzanne Austin, 26, of Groveville, had an active traffic warrant out of Hightstown for $190.  Austin was released after posting bail.
