Police Blotter: Jewels and More Reported Stolen, Cops Seek Burglar

The following arrest information was supplied by the police departments of East Windsor Township and Hightstown Borough. It does not indicate a conviction.

Police: Man Broke Into Check Cashing Store

Local police reported numerous thefts and several burglaries over the past week.

are seeking a man who reportedly forced open the door of the Check Cashing store in the Twin Rivers Mall between 6:18 and 6:20 a.m. Tuesday. Police described the man as white, in his 50’s, with grey hair and in a pink T-shirt and khaki pants. Nothing was reported stolen from the store.

Four Thefts and a Burglary Reported in East Windsor

East Windsor Police reported numerous incidents of reported unlawful taking in June.

  • A Livingston Drive resident told police someone took an unsecured brown Raleigh 3-speed bicycle, worth $185, from his backyard between 3:30 p.m. June 7 and 9:45 a.m. June 8.
  • A Moorsgate Circle resident told police someone entered his residence through an unlocked side door between 8 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. June 8 and stole approximately  $15,930’s worth of jewelry.
  • A resident of Princeton Arms Apartments North Building 1 told police someone reached into his bedroom through an open window and stole a $300 iPhone from a nearby shelf between 2 and 6:30 a.m. June 9.
  • A man told police someone stole his $280 Schwinn bicylcle from outside Wendy’s Restaurant on Route 130 while it was left unsecured outside the restaurant between 2:06 and 2:45 p.m. June 10.
  • A Dennison Drive resident told police someone stole a UPS package containing $430 in perfume bottles from outside her door between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. June 10.

Teenager Charged with Stealing from Walmart

A 17-year-old East Windsor girl from Windsor Regency Apartments was charged June 11 with shoplifting.

East Windsor Police said they responded to the Walmart on Route 130 at 6:06 p.m. for a report of a shoplifter in custody. Store personnel told police the girl hid clothing and shoes worth a total of $81.55 in her purse. The girl was released to her father.

GPS Goes Missing from Hightstown Car

A victim told someone took a GPS unit from their unlocked car between 7 and 9 p.m. June 5. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 609-448-1234.
