Police Blotter: Resisting Arrest, Criminal Mischief, Child Abuse and Other Charges in Early July

The following arrest information was supplied by the police department of East Windsor Township. It does not indicate a conviction.

Man Charged With Obstructing Justice for Providing False Name

Jacob Carrera, 20, of Trenton, was charged with hindering apprehension, obstructing justice and failure to wear a seatbelt on June 30.

Police said they saw a 1991 Ford traveling southbound on Route 130 at 3:18 a.m. with occupants not wearing their seatbelts.  The vehicle was stopped in the CVS parking lot and police said the driver provided the officer with a false name and personal information.  When police determined the driver's identity, they found he had an outstanding arrest warrant from Union County.  He was charged and turned over to Union County Sheriff’s Office on their warrant.

Resident Reports Stolen Packages

Police said an Evanston Drive resident reported several packages delivered by UPS that were left at her door were stolen between 2 p.m. June 27 and 8 a.m. June 28.  The packages were worth $80 combined.  Anyone with information can call East Windsor Police at 609-448-5678.

Two Adults Charged With Drug Possession, Teen Faces Alcohol Charges

Marco Gaudin, 38, of Danbury Court, and Dalton Cupples, 19, of Disbrow Hill Road, were charged with possession of under 50 grams of marijuana and a teen from Englishtown was charged with underage consumption of alcohol at 10:12 p.m. July 1.

Police said officers responded to the basketball court on Bolton Road for a report of a group of people drinking alcoholic beverages and police saw two people on the court sharing a marijuana cigarette.  Police said a third person, a 17-year-old boy, was found to be under the influence of alcohol and in possession of an alcoholic beverage. 

The two adults were charged and released pending court action and the boy was released to the custody of his mother.

Woman Charged With Shoplifting at Walmart

Nicole Rosetty, 18, of Cedarville Road, was charged with shoplifting July 2.

Officers responded to Walmart at 6:05 p.m. for a report of a shoplifter in custody.  Store personnel reported she was observed taking cosmetics totaling $194.76, and concealing them in her purse.  She left the store without paying and was detained by store personnel, according to police.  She was released pending court action.

Man Charged with Child Abuse

Dario Paredes-Quintero, 35, of Hampton Arms Apartments, was charged with child endangerment on July 5.

Police said officers responded to a Hampton Arms address for a 911 call involving a disturbance.  A 15-year-old girl was identified as the victim and police said she had a series of raised welts on her shoulder consistent with being beaten with a belt.  Police charged the father and he was later released pending court action. 

Tires Slashed on Dennison Drive

Police said a resident reported all four fires slashed on her vehicle parked on Dennison Drive between 1 p.m. July 3 and 11:46 a.m. July 4. Damage was estimated at $453.

Man Faces DWI and Driving While Suspended Charges

Jose Borjas, 28, of Chestnut Willow Apartments, was charged with driving while intoxicated, reckless driving, careless driving, driving while suspended, failure to wear seatbelt and unsafe lane change on July 4.

Police said a black Geo was seen traveling westbound on Route 133 near Route 130 in an erratic manner at 6:31 p.m.  The vehicle was stopped near Route 571. 

Police said they smelled alcohol on the breath of the driver, Borjas, his eyes were bloodshot and watery, and he failed field sobriety tests. He was later released pending court action. 

GPS Stolen from Unlocked Vehicle

A Rockybrook Road resident told police a GPS unit worth $150 and approximately $10 in coins were stolen from his unlocked vehicle between 10:30 p.m. June 29 and 12:32 p.m. July 5. Anyone with information can call East Windsor Police at 609-448-5678.

TV, iPod, Money Reported Stolen from Apartment

Police said a resident of Windsor Regency Apartments reported her apartment was entered between 7 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. on July 5 and her television, an iPod and approximately $20 in loose change were stolen.  Anyone with information can call East Windsor Police at 609-448-5678.
