Police Blotter: Two Parents Charged With Hitting Kids

Father Allegedly Sprained Daughter’s Fingers

Fausto Gallegos-Plaza, 35, of Princeton Arms Apartments West, East Windsor, was charged June 14 with child abuse.

Police said they received a report from the state Division of Youth and Family Services at 9 p.m. June 14 that a father had struck his 9-year-old daughter with a sandal, hurting two of her fingers and leading her to be treated at the University Medical Center Princeton. Police said they learned the girl’s fingers had been sprained and arrested Gallegos-Plaza, who was released pending court.

Patricia Luzuriaga, 25, of Windsor Regency Apartments, East Windsor, was charged June 14 with child endangerment.

Police said they responded to Windsor Regency at 4 p.m. June 13 on a report that a mother had beaten her 9-year-old son with a belt, causing “extensive bruising over large portions of his back.” Luzuriaga was charged and later released on $50,000 bail pending court action.
