Police Blotter: Warrant Arrests and Drunken Driving

The following arrest information was supplied by the police department of Hightstown Borough. It does not indicate a conviction.

Driver and Passenger Charged With Contempt of Court

Police charged Miriam Vera, 36, of Union City, with contempt of court, driving with a suspended driver’s license, and failure to inspect, 7:13 p.m. July 30 on Mercer Street. 

Police said she was pulled over for failing to inspect her vehicle and a credential check revealed a suspended driver's license and an active $100 warrant issued by Union City Municipal Court.

Vera’s passenger, Juan Ventura, 31, of Patterson, also was charged with contempt of court for an active $1,000 warrant.  Both were taken into custody and released upon posting bail. 

Trenton Man Charged With DWI

Raymond Schumann, 45, of Trenton, was charged with driving while intoxicated, driving while intoxicated in a school zone, reckless driving, and improper backing at 2:06 a.m. July 31.

According to police, officers patroling Mercer Street saw Schumann having difficulty making a left turn. 

He was stopped and police reported smelling alcohol on his breath. Schumann failed field sobriety tests and submitted breath samples with a reading of 0.06 percent BAC. Schumann was released to a friend with pending court action. 

Hightstown Woman Charged on Cranbury Warrant

Kianna Robinson, 21, of Deerfield Apartments, Hightstown, was charged with contempt of court at 5:52 a.m. Aug. 1.

Police served a $2,500 warrant from Cranbury Township Municipal Court at Robinson's residence.  Robinson was taken into custody and turned over to Cranbury Township Police Department in lieu of bail. 

Woman Charged on Robbinsville Warrant

Monica Zea, 40, of Hamilton, was charged at police headquarters with contempt of court at 6:03 p.m. Aug. 2. 

Zea came to the police station on an unrelated matter and a credential check revealed a $114 warrant issued by Robbinsville Township Municipal Court.  Zea was taken into custody and later released upon posting bail.
