Cab Driver Robbed at Knifepoint in Hightstown
The driver was not injured in the assault, according to police.
An East Windsor man was arrested and charged Tuesday night after allegedly robbing a taxi driver in Hightstown at knifepoint.
Hightstown police were dispatched to the area of Grant Avenue and Academy Street at 6 p.m. after receiving a report that a man flagged down a taxi, held a large kitchen knife to the side of the driver and demanded money, police said.
According to police, the driver gave Thomas Troy, 26, between $20 and $40 before he ran away. The cab driver was not injured in the assault.

Police said they located Troy hiding in a Morrison Avenue residence. He was charged with robbery, aggravated assault, multiple weapons offenses, and theft, police said.
Troy's last known address is on Enfield Road in East Windsor, according to police. He was transported to Mercer County Correction Center in default of $15,000 bail.
