Updated: Police: East Windsor Man Tried to Tackle Officer

Man was sought after violating a restraining order, according to police.

A 26-year-old man was charged after grabbing an East Windsor Police officer by the legs and attempting to tackle him on Sunday, police said.

Police were called to a house around 6:30 p.m. for a report of a disturbance and found that Carlos Andrade, of Twin Rivers Drive North, had gone to the house despite a restraining order and left before officers arrived, police said Wednesday.

Andrade was later found in the parking lot at the Twin Rivers Mall, resisted arrest and assaulted an officer by trying to tackle him, police said.

He was charged with aggravated assault, harassment, resisting arrest, obstructing justice, disorderly conduct, hindering apprehension and contempt of court, and was held on $15,000 bail at the Mercer County Corrections Center.
