Police: Hightstown Man Wields Kitchen Knife, Threatens Patron at Mahzu

East Windsor police arrested Joseph Scirocco for allegedly threatening a person with a knife.

Joseph Scirocco, 20, of Hightstown was arrested by East Windsor police on Saturday, Feb. 16 and charged with aggravated assault and weapons offenses after he allegedly threatened another person with a knife, the East Windsor Police Department reported.

At around 9 p.m., officers responded to a call for an employee allegedly threatening a customer with a knife at Mahzu restaurant on Route 33. 

According to police, Scirocco intervened in a dispute between a group of patrons and a waitress by brandishing a kitchen knife and threatening members of the group.

Scirocco was arrested and taken into custody, but was later released after posting bail. This case is pending court.

Scirocco was one of four men charged in December for allegedly arranging a fake drug deal to rob three people on Bristol Way in East Windsor.
