Police Investigate Multiple Burglaries

Various incidents were reported in East Windsor and Hightstown, including forced entries to residences.

are looking into incidents that include four instances of apparent home burglaries via forced entry, while are investigating two other thefts.

In East Windsor, the latest incident was reportedly between 9:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. May 21, when the victim told police someone broke open his Bennington Drive residence’s rear door and stole various items of jewelry.

The other incidents were reported May 19.

  • Between 11 a.m. and 1:15 p.m. on Abbington Drive, a victim told police someone broke open the front door of his apartment and stole $80 in loose change and a $35 plaque.
  • Between 7 a.m. and 5:10 p.m., a victim told police someone forced open the front door of his Dennison Drive residence and stole three gold rings worth $450, a $400 camera, a $100 pair of earrings and a $5 jewelry box.
  • Between 7 a.m. and 8:59 p.m. on Braxton Court, a victim told police someone forced entry to her residence through the front door. Police said it was not yet not determined if anything was missing from the residence.

All four incidents are under investigation, according to police.

East Windsor Police also said a shopper at Shop Rite said someone stole her purse from her wallet between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. May 20. Several charges were later found on one of her three credit cards, according to police.

In Hightstown, a shopper at the Greater Goods Thrift Store on Rogers Avenue reported the theft of a $400 cellphone at 4:30 p.m. May 20. The victim told Hightstown Police they set the phone down on the countertop during a transaction, turned their back for a moment and then found the phone was missing.

Between noon May 20 and 6 p.m. May 23, also in Hightstown, a victim told police someone entered their unlocked car and stole a Garmin GPS and several music CDs. Police said the value of the items was undetermined.
