Police: TJ Maxx Closed Due to Phoned-In Bomb Threat
The East Windsor business reopened after police swept the premises.
It was a bomb threat that on Princeton-Hightstown Road for about two hours Monday evening, have confirmed.
Police said they responded to the store at 4:20 p.m. on a report that an unidentified person had called the shop "and made a statement about bombing the store."
The store was evacuated while canine units searched the interior and after no threat was found the store reopened at about 6:30 p.m., according to the police report.

The other responding units were the West Windsor Township Police K-9 Unit, the Mercer County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Unit, and Capital Health Systems Ambulance.
Police cars blocked the section of the lot by T.J. Maxx in the East Windsor Village Shopping Center Monday evening, when would-be shoppers were kept out of the building. Stores adjacent to T.J. Maxx were not evacuated.

"The safety of our associates and customers is always a top priority," said
Doreen Thompson, spokesperson for T.J. Maxx parent company The TJX Companies, Inc., in an e-mail. "Yesterday, we temporarily closed our T.J. Maxx store in East Windsor, N.J., which has since reopened. Beyond this, we have no further comment as this is a police matter."
