Shoplifting Spree at East Windsor Walmart

East Windsor police have reported three shoplifting incidents at the Walmart in East Windsor.

The Walmart in East Windsor has been a recent target for shoplifters as three incidents took place at the store within the past month.

The first offense occurred on May 11 when a notebook computer was stolen from the Walmart at around 4 p.m. Walmart personnel told police that the suspect removed the computer from the store shelf, left the store without paying for it, and entered a red sedan. The notebook was valued at $500, police said.

Sundre Stowbridge, of Linden, was charged with shoplifting on May 16, after he allegedly took DVDs without paying for the merchandise, according to the East Winsor Police Department. According to police, Walmart employees contacted them after they reportedly observed the man taking the DVDs and exiting the store.

Police located Strowbridge’s vehicle driving on Route 130 North and pulled him over. The DVDs, valued at $319.68, were recovered by police and returned to Walmart, police said. Strowbridge, 46, was charged with shoplifting. He also had an outstanding warrant out of South Brunswick.

Ellis Smith, 51, of Newark was charged with shoplifting after he allegedly stole two large boxes containing a coffee maker and a pot set, according to East Windsor police. Walmart personnel contacted police to report the shoplifting incident on the night of May 19. The stolen merchandise is valued at $907, police said.
