Shot Fired During Attempted Robbery in Hightstown

Police say the two men may have fled in a black car.

A gunshot was fired while two robbers attempted to steal a man’s car at the Deerfield Apartment complex Wednesday night, according to Hightstown Police.

The victim and witnesses told police a shot was fired into the air around 8:30 p.m. from a silver revolved-style handgun as the victim ran from the area, authorities said. There were no injuries and the two men may have fled in a black car, police said.

Police said the gunman was described as a black male in his late 20’s to early 30’s, about 6 feet tall with a stocky build, a “chin-strap” style beard or goatee and had short dark hair. He was wearing a white t-shirt, blue jeans, was carrying a red shirt over his shoulder and had a tribal-style tattoo on his forearm, police said.

The second man was described as a black male in his late 20’s to early 30’s, wearing a black t-shirt and cargo-style shorts, police said.
