Storm Knocks Down Utility Polls

said they responded to Old Trenton and Millstone roads at 4:38 p.m. today, Wednesday, for a report of a utility problem involving power lines. Police said they found electrical lines and utility poles lying across Old Trenton Road between Millstone Road and One Mile Road. The damage, police said, was likely attributable to high winds during the day’s “brief but powerful storm.” 

Police called traffic congestion “significant” as they diverted drivers around the felled lines. The road remained closed and electricity cut off to nearby residents as crews continued the work to repair the lines Thursday morning.
