Two Hightstown Residences Burglarized

A Westerlea Arms apartment and Spruce Street home were both burglarized last week.

The Hightstown Borough Police Department are currently investigating two burglaries that took place last week.

An apartment within the Westerlea Arms Apartment Complex was burglarized between the hours of 2:30 p.m. and 4 p.m. on July 18, according to police. Four gold chains valued at $2,400 were stolen from the apartment, police said. The burglar reportedly forced his way into the apartment.

A home on Spruce Street was also reportedly burglarized on July 24, according to police. The homeowner told police that an unknown individual entered the home and removed a purse with no contents in it at around 4:30 a.m.  Police said that burglar appeared to have entered the home through an unlocked rear door and then ran away from the area after being scared off by the homeowner’s dog. There were no signs of forced entry into the home, police said.
