Two women were taken to the hospital after an accident between a Ford Mustang and a Chevrolet Van at Route 33 and Lake Drive around 5:15 a.m. Tuesday, according to police and fire officials.
The accident happened when the Ford Mustang was coming out of Lake Drive into the intersection of Route 33, police said. The van was traveling east on Route 33 and struck the car on the driver’s side.
Firefighters had to cut the driver of the Mustang, Carol Lange, 52, of East Windsor, out of the car, East Windsor police said in a news release. She was taken to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick for head and abdominal injuries.

The passenger of the Mustang, Phyllis Deieso, 74, of Monroe Township, was also taken to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick with non-life threatening injuries, police said.
Both the driver of the van, Audberto Aguilar-Galicia, 44, of Baltimore, Md., and the passenger, Jeffrey Vulpis, 39, of Perrineville, were not injured, police said.

The accident is under investigation and charges have not been filed, police said.
East Windsor Fire Company #1 and Hightstown Engine Company #1 assisted East Windsor Fire Company #2 with the extrication of the driver of the Mustang, said Eric Coran, deputy chief of East Windsor Fire Company #2.
Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office Serious Collision Response Team was also called to the scene, police said.
