Emergency Service Members Recognized

Mayor Steven Kirson read a proclamation on behalf of the council, outlining each recipient's accomplishments and presented it to them.

Three emergency service members were recognized at Monday’s council meeting for their dedication to their respective departments.

Patrolman Francisco Jimenez was recognized as the Police Officer of the Year; Captain Mark Madonia was recognized as the EMT of the Year; and Gary Evers was recognized as the Firefighter of the Year.

On the Hightstown First Aid squad, Madonia held the positions of captain and president. Members of the squad have called Madonia a “great asset to the first aid squad,” Mayor Steven Kirson said while reading a proclaimation.

“It really is an incredible service that Gary provides along with everyone else in the fire department and it is really remarkable,” Kirson said, thanking Evers for his service.

Kirson said Jimenez has served on the Hightstown Police Department since 2006, and in 2010 made 49 arrests.

“These guys are doing a wonderful job,” council member Larry Quattrone said.
