Student Representatives for East Windsor Committees Needed

The East Windsor Council wishes to have high school student representatives on seven different committees.

East Windsor Mayor Janice S. Mironov announced that the Township is seeking high school students to serve as Student Representatives to Township boards and commissions.

The East Windsor Township Council has formally established the non-voting position of Student Representative to certain Township advisory boards and commissions.

The board and commissions included in the program are:

  • Commission on Aging
  • Clean Communities Committee
  • Economic Development Commission
  • Environmental Commission
  • Health Advisory Committee
  • Recreation Commission
  • East Windsor Municipal Alliance for the Prevention of Substance Abuse

Generally, these bodies meet on a monthly basis. According to Mayor Mironov, “the Township Council seeks to involve young people in our government and believes that student participation injects a fresh outlook into the governmental process. We believe that this program has mutual benefits, hopefully stimulating younger citizens to have a greater interest in and understanding of the role of local government.”

High school students who wish to be considered should submit a letter (name, address, phone number, school and year) indicating their area of interest and reasons or related background, to Mayor Janice Mironov and Council Members, East Windsor Municipal Building, 16 Lanning Boulevard, East Windsor, New Jersey 08520.
