Hightstown Borough Council Candidate Profile: Gail Doran

Patch posed a series of questions to each candidate.

Name: Gail Doran
Party:
Democrat
Running for:
1 year term

Why are you running for council?
Civic duty! I have gone to almost every council meeting for the last four years and it is time to run for office.

What are the three issues most important to you?

  • Sustainability of the small town character of Hightstown - because that's why I want to live in Hightstown
  • Ecomonic viability of this community - because without creative cooperative arrangements with surrounding communities we can not continue to provide adequate services.
  • Communication between council, residents and borough departments - because for too long borough departments have operated without accountability to council and residents; and borough council has largely ignored its responsibility to communicate with residents.

Why should residents vote for you?
My focus is the best interests of Hightstown, not a single interest group. I work hard and smart and am a skilled communicator.
